Premium burs cost more than standard ones, but they last three to five times longer, so the cost per preparation ends up lower. That is exactly what the Premium designation stands for, and what justifies the difference in price.

Model 271, the Football, is defined by its stout convex body that reproduces the concavity of an occlusal surface almost by itself. Rather than carving anatomy stroke by stroke, you sweep the instrument across the surface and the shape follows.

The burs work on the shark-tooth principle: as the upper layer of diamond grains wears away, fresh grains from the layers beneath are automatically exposed. Cutting efficiency therefore stays constant instead of declining over the life of the instrument.
