Premium burs cost more than standard ones, but they last three to five times longer, so the cost per preparation ends up lower. That is exactly what the Premium designation stands for, and what justifies the difference in price.

Models 297 to 299 are the elongated version of the flame, made for situations where you need to keep a consistent taper over a longer surface. The extended working part lets you finish a full axial wall in one pass instead of blending several shorter strokes.

The burs work on the shark-tooth principle: as the upper layer of diamond grains wears away, fresh grains from the layers beneath are automatically exposed. Cutting efficiency therefore stays constant instead of declining over the life of the instrument.
